The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to play a leading role within the specialist Geotechnical group, to lead on the design of some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and worldwide. Working closely with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary practice, you will provide specialist consultancy input and business development activity on projects across all sectors including Education, Healthcare, Critical Systems, Industrial, Residential and Retail.


In this wide-ranging role, you will coordinate the production of detailed geotechnical calculations and analysis, lead site investigations and risk assessments, and oversee geotechnical design (shallow strips/pads, piled foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, basement construction etc.), specification and procurement.


You will also be responsible for the technical development and mentoring of less experienced members of the geotechnical team and drive forward the geotechnical capabilities of the team as a whole.

The Skills

A chartered engineer (MICE), with a post graduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology, you have extensive experience in a broad range of geotechnical engineering work including the design of basement excavations, retaining structures, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability and landslide analysis, ground improvement and rock engineering applications.


To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrable technical and management skills over a variety of multi-disciplinary project types, with a strong desire to lead and improve the technical skills of the geotechnical team.


Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative and negotiating skills to overcome challenges are essential.
