A world-leading design, engineering, and project management organisation have an opportunity to join their Project & Programme Services team.

 

As part of our continuous expansion in the UK market we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Graduate Building Services Design Engineer to join the Building Surveying team, to consolidate and grow our Building Surveying and Building Services Engineering offering in Nottinghamshire and across surrounding regions.

Building Services Engineers play a key part in reducing energy and water usage in schools, offices, and other buildings. They design buildings so that people are comfortable and can live and work with freedom and ease. You’ll consider and design technologies such as Solar Panels, Heat Pumps and Controls Systems that keep a building working as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

 

The individual will work closely with the Managing M&E Engineer and existing teams to support the offering of M&E design and surveying services.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant Building Services Engineering subject.
  • Student/Graduate CIBSE/IET Membership is preferable, with desire and motivation to work towards professional accreditation.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • The ability to demonstrate a highly motivated, pro-active approach to work matters.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Have experience of using industry standard software, including AutoCAD and
  • Hevacomp/IES/TAS/Relux/Dialux, to produce drawings and design calculations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with preparation of design calculations utilising both industry standard software and spreadsheets.
  • Produce tender documentation to include drawings, specifications, risk assessments and pricing schedules.
  • Carry out site surveys and complete feasibility reports and budget costs.
  • Accompany Senior Engineers to client/design team meetings, recording minutes.
  • Understand and work in accordance with regulations, standards and guidance, including Building regulations and CIBSE guides.
  • Maintain service quality standards and a culture of continuous improvement and constructive expertise.
  • Participate in relevant internal/external training initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of industry issues and developments in best practice, in particular focussing on Net Zero initiatives and low carbon technologies.
  • Communicate and interact with others coherently, in accordance with the organisation’s values.
