Permanent Mechanical Fitters – Water / Wastewater Experience

Job Description

This is a terrific opportunity to join a very successful, established and growing company that provides engineering, construction and maintenance services for water utilities – such as water treatment plants, sewerage treatment works, acid phase digestion plants and other water infrastructure. With Head Office in the Bath / Somerset region and regional offices in Exeter and Kent the company has a long history of providing innovative and quality work to their clients. Based in Portsmouth and the surrounding area there is an immediate requirement for Mechanical Fitters to work on water treatment facilities and pumping station projects. Duties include:

• Taking responsibility for the health & safety of self and all under your control
• Minimising impact on & protection of the environment
• Safe cost effective delivery of electrical installations in line with company SHEQ policies
• Managing the completion of site installation work ensuring work is on schedule and within budget, including:
• Planning the work efficiently in order to meet agreed deadlines
• Ordering materials and ensuring that the correct materials are on site when required
• Interpretation of site drawings and project information
• Liaising with other contractors
• Monitor and inspect the quality of work on site to ensure work is meets the standards
• Undertaking and recording statutory inspections of plant and equipment
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
• Respect the environment, implement control measures where applicable to protect the environment
• Implement measures to prevent waste production
• Ensure all waste is handled in line with legislation

To be considered a suitable candidate for this position you will need the following:

• CCNSSG Safety Passport
• Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification
• Emergency first aid or First Aider
• Water Industry/Industrial Background
• Thames Water Passport advantageous – but not essential
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle required
