Permanent Civil Design Engineer – Water / Wastewater

As a result of a recent merger the company’s services extend beyond the traditional and include full design, construction and maintenance services. The sectors they primarily operate in are water / wastewater, oil gas and food and beverage manufacturing. With a new Head Office in Truro the company has a growing Bristol office. Current projects are underway throughout the UK as well as in Egypt and Turkey.

Due to a steady increase in workload there is an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer with a minimum of five year relevant postgraduate experience and design / client management experience in the water treatment sector. Based at the Head Office in Truro the position will involve working with an experienced team on the design and delivery of a variety of water and wastewater treatment plant projects throughout the UK. Duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

• Meeting with clients and developing projects from a conceptual to detailed design stage
• Undertaking all design activities – producing relevant technical reports
• Working closely with all parties to ensure the right solution is delivered
• Ensuring all solutions are safe to build, operate and maintain
• Site surveys and problem solving during the project construction phase
• Working effectively as part of a professional team
• Mentoring and assisting in the professional development of more junior Engineers

To be considered for this role you will need the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

• Civil / Structural Engineering qualifications with 5-10 years postgraduate experience
• Chartered status or approaching chartered status
• Extensive experience in the design and delivery of water / wastewater projects
• Proficiency with relevant design software
• An understanding of the interface with mechanical, electrical and process components
• Strong computer, organisational and computer skills
