Permanent Building Services Associate – KAM and Work Winner (HPC & Energy Market)
Our client provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure. Drawing upon a diverse skill set and a proven track record of delivery we are playing a leading role in some of the world’s most challenging and exciting engineering projects across sectors including Airports, Defence, Energy, Cities and Development, Education and Rail.
Their Building Design division have a great opportunity for an electrically biased Associate Director to join the UK team, based in Bristol. As an Associate within the UK Practice you will take a lead role in providing both business development and technical / team leadership for buildings and infrastructure related projects. The structure of the Building Design business means that you could be taking up a lead role on both local and global engineering opportunities.
The role will involve a focus on both project delivery and building client relationships in order to maximise client satisfaction and secure future work opportunities. The role will offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills and contribute to the development of the Building Design business.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a collocated client and contractor team. You will contribute to the successful delivery of a uniquely important and iconic project.
Part of your role will require regular travel to Europe to work in partnership with our other project partners as well as to Asia where one our design teams is based.
In Bristol, you will lead our core team of senior engineers and guide them to deliver the detailed design for small power and lighting systems within a fully co-ordinated 3D model environment. This will require a close working relationship with the procurement and supply chain teams, as well as the off-site fabrication unit.
- Degree in electrical engineering or electrical building services or equivalent experience.
- Chartered member of IET or CIBSE
- Role based in Bristol
- Some level of French speaking beneficial but not essential.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
- Broad experience working across multiple market sectors.
- Preferably some experience of industrial or nuclear sectors.
- Experience of progressing designs through to completion of installation stages.
- Working knowledge of common forms of contract.
- Experience of running a large project team or design office.
