  • Within RWE Innogy the Wind Energy Offshore department is an international businessunit with centres of excellence in Hamburg, Germany and Swindon, UK. Project engineers will work in the Offshore Electrical Engineering team, which is involved in projects from the development stage through to design, construction and operation. We are looking for senior electrical engineers to undertake challenging and responsible roles on our development projects


    Your tasks:


    Acting as project expert for electrical systems supporting our UK development projects with electrical system/component knowledge. During the development stage a number of different wind farm layouts, platform concepts, energy export and onshore substation solutions, cable systems and cable routes have to be evaluated coordinating all tasks specific to particular packages of work, externally and within RWE Innogy.


    Collaborating with the Development department and maintaining key stakeholder relationships (i.e. with partners, regulatory authorities, NGET, etc.) negotiating and proactively driving electrical solutions with suppliers ensuring the quality of all packages of work managing and developing a team of younger electrical engineers managing consultant subcontractors being responsible for leading a team of engineers and/or being seen as a leading authority within their area of technical specialisation


     


    Your profile:


    University degree or comparable education in electrical power system engineering experience in project management for energy, wind or gas and oil industry projects excellent analytical and conceptual skills, ability to drive innovative and strategic thinking excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively within a multicultural project team fluent in spoken and written English strong coordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful knowledge of: switchgears GIS, AIS (MV, HV), transformers (dry and oil/water cooled for MV, HV), protection systems, on- and offshore cables (LV, MV, HV, fibre optical cables) establishing detailed specifications for related electrical equipment and services basic understanding of SCADA/HMI and remote control systems experience in project management for renewable, power generation or gas and oil industry projects familiar with: HVDC transmission, design knowledge of offshore wind turbine generators and transformer stations, management of subcontractors including claim management.
