  • a relevant degree and/or IT industry based qualifications
  
  
  • relevant industry experience, within either a supplier or user organisation, or consultancy;
  
  
  • good communication skills, with experience in dealing with colleagues and clients at all levels;
  
  
  • well-founded self-confidence and be proactive;
  
  
  • the ability, under broad direction and guidance, to manage extended tasks at all phases of scoping, design and implementation of ICT for building projects, including managing procurement and contractors;
  
  

  
  

  ·         good PC desktop skills and a disciplined approach to work;

  
  

  ·         experience of working on multiple concurrent projects and work streams;

  
  

  ·         an enthusiasm to develop skills and knowledge, and to share this with colleagues;

  There is an engineering opportunity to support the growth in demand for ICT planning within BH projects.

  
  

   

  
  

  This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and broaden experience, and would be particularly suitable for someone with a broad electrical engineering background, although not necessarily in ICT specialisms. We work closely with colleagues in many disciplines, and especially with Building Services. Clients increasingly see ICT as a critical requirement.

  
  

   

  
  

  Most of the work of the group is focused on scoping and designing ICT infrastructures within BH projects. We work across all sectors, and typically work on several projects concurrently. In addition we provide advice on IT and telecommunications to colleagues throughout the firm, as well as to clients.

  
  

   

  
  

  The ICT group is currently working on a range of projects, mainly in the UK and the Middle East. These include scoping and developing ICT solutions for:

  
  

   

  
  

  
  
  • A very large museum in Abu Dhabi.
  
  
  • A large media zone in Abu Dhabi.
  
  
  • A new corporate business school in Mumbai
  
  
  • A new corporate HQ in the UK.
  
  
  • An aerospace city in Qatar
  
  

  
  

   Within the last twelve months we have worked on a very large museum in Egypt, several hospitals and schools, and are currently included in BH submissions for work in the air transport and civic and commercial sectors for a range of major projects in UK and the Middle East.

  
  

   

  
  

  Typically we work from concept through to detailed design stages, but may also be engaged in construction documentation. Typical appointment values for the discipline are in the range of £25K to £250K.
